New Year.....New Job

We have some super exciting news! A week before Christmas, Jeff was offered a great promotion through his job at Sunroc. Sunroc is a building supply company. He has worked for them since September 2005, right after his mission. He was hired as a "yard hand" sweeping and straightening up the lumber yard. He was then promoted to a lumber delivery driver. In April 2007 he started a year-long internship, where he would spend a couple of months in several divisions of the company (HR, inventory control, insulation, door shop, and trusses), which was awesome because he needed an internship to graduate from UVU. His internship was cut short last February when we was offered a full-time position as an inside salesman at their new yard in Salt Lake. He commuted an hour from February till July until we moved to Bountiful. The job as inside salesman was a step in the right direction, but not something he wanted to do long term.
Here's the scoop on the promotion: the job is production manager for the insulation department. He did part of his internship there and impressed them so much that when they had the open position they immediately wanted him. The position is salaried and he will get a company truck and gas card. Which is a really great thing because the job means for now he has to, get this, commute back down to the Provo/Orem area (1 hour). Pretty ironic, huh?
The days will be really long for him (working 7-5, plus the hour commute each way), but we are excited as this is exactly what we were waiting for! He starts this new job tomorrow. Way to go Jeff!
