What Else We Have Been Up To.....

What do you think about our Halloween Costumes this year?

That's right.  Any of you out there who still read my blog (which I'm starting to doubt anyone really does, and that's ok with me) get to find out before the facebook world does.  Thing #3 is due in May and we are very excited!  I have another doctors appointment in 4 days so I am excited to hear the heartbeat again and will feel more confident in sharing the news at that point.  Alayna is very excited to have "two babies" at our house!

September Fun

September for me means denial that summer is really over and spending every possible moment enjoying the last warm days of the year.  For Labor Day, we decided to visit my parents in St. George.  It was a fun and relaxing weekend. 

 We watched Jeff and Alayna shoot some hoops and went swimming.  We ate (a lot of) delicious food.

 Also in September, I took the girls to our local Splash Pad for a last hurrah.  I love how quiet it is there when school has started and you don't have to worry about losing your child or them getting trampled!

 Alayna started preschool.  It is a new thing because it isn't always at her house with her mom as the teacher!  I rotate teaching with 3 other mom's in the neighborhood for a month at a time, so September she went to someone else's house.  It has been a good experience for her (and for me!)

 Jeff's sister, Pam, got married to Sam Brauer on September 29th in the Bountiful LDS temple.  It was such a gorgeous day and everything went so well!  Pam is so happy even though it stinks for us that she lives in Wyoming now =)  Note the picture above where Shane is trying to keep Becca's finger out of her nose for the picture and the other kids are trying not to laugh about it.

Other September happenings:
-We had our tenant move out....36 hours later we had scheduled our new one to move in.  We won't be doing that again, I'm pretty sure.  Jeff and Jack (my father in law) stayed up till 2am fixing and cleaning the apartment, then woke up again at 6am to finish so our tenant could move in at 9am.
-September always means a lot of football!  Attending and watching BYU games is pretty high on the priority list around here.  

Summer Preschool

So I decided to have a Summer Preschool at my house for June, July, and August.  If you want to read more about it, go to summersuccessprek.blogspot.com.  It was an adventure and a learning experience!  I worked really hard to try and plan fun activities and also to make it academically appropriate for the kids.  I had between 5-6 kids every month.  Enjoy some random pics of activities we had.  Above: our theme for June was insects.  Students created paper plate ladybugs one day after we read The Grouchy Ladybug.

They painted butterflies.  On the last day of June, we took a field trip and walked to our neighborhood park where we went on an Insect Hunt, drew pictures of what we saw, and read bug books.

In July, our theme was Water.  We played with water and studied properties of water.  We also talked about flags and had Ice Cream Day.

We talked about Pirates for letter P and how Pirates sail on the ocean.  Here is Alayna with her pirate face.

On the last day of July, we had a water party.  Before we played water games, they got to practice drawing shapes and letters in shaving cream!

In August, we talked about animals.  Here are the students making nests (out of chinese noodles and melted chocolate...yummy!)  On the last day, we took a field trip to a local family farm where we got to see horses, sheep, pigs, chickens, and cows. 

We had music time every day.  The kids loved singing and dancing!

It was a fun experience to watch the kids learn and grow and for me to see if preschool is something I would really want to do out of my home in the future!

August at the Yoho house

 In August we attended the Brigham City Temple Open House...what a beautiful place and a great teaching experience for my girls.

 We made and canned salsa for the first time.  We grew the tomatoes, jalapenos, onions, and bell peppers in our garden.  We grilled the tomatoes and peppers for more flavor: totally worth it!

 We made 2 batches about this size....we are so happy with the results and I can see this becoming a definite summer tradition.  Jeff also learned how to pickle and can hot peppers and did several jars of those (yuck!)

*We took some updated Klemas family pictures in August.  Fun to see how everyone is growing!

Other August Events:
*Jeff and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary!  This year it was my turn to plan.  Scott and Kim watched our girls for 2 days.  The first day Jeff and I went to 7 Peaks kid-free!  It was so fun to ride all the rides and so interesting how quickly we did everything there was to do at the park!  We went to dinner at a fantastic Mexican restaurant in Midway called Tarahumara and saw the new Spiderman movie.  We spent the night at the cabin and the following day went shopping in Park City and went to lunch at Olive Garden.  It was so much fun!

July...one of my favorite months in Utah

 Our first (and only, sadly enough) boating trip of the summer.  So much fun and Becca was a great sport!

 We went to Pineview Reservoir.  We had a great time playing in the sand, munching, and boating.  Jeff and I even wake boarded!  I got up on my 2nd try.  Not bad considering I hadn't wake boarded in 5 years!

 Gram took the Grandkids and their mom's to our annual trip to Hogle Zoo.  Our cousin Holli and her 3 kiddies joined us as well!  (Thanks Michelle for being the documenter of so many fun activities so I can steal your pictures! =)

 A great representation of this summer....lots of time in the yard.  Alayna helps Jeff mow the lawn every single week.  A true princess mows in her tutu and glass slippers, right?

Alayna loved watching gymnastics during the Olympics.  It was hilarious to watch her imitate their moves =)

*For the 4th, we had our usual BBQ at our house with Keith and Stacia and watched fireworks at Pleasant Grove Jr. High...always a great show!

Other events in July:
*Jeff and I got to go on a super fun date night to a Real soccer game
*For the 24th, we did our usual Bountiful Parade and Fireworks.  It is always SO much fun!
*We went to 7 peaks, the American Fork Pool, and the Splash Pad a lot!!!
*We enjoyed working in and harvesting our garden
*We attended the annual Kohler Reunion at the Kohler Dairy Farm in Midway
