A Gentle Reminder

We have a soft spot in our hearts for the University of Utah Hospital, from Alayna's stay in their NICU. Jeff had the idea that every year around Alayna's birthday we can make a donation to them based on our abilities and their needs. This year we visited them and donated 4 or 5 blankets and several spools of ribbon (they make hair bows for little baby girls with them). We didn't get to see Dr. Coulter, who was Alayna's head neo-natologist during her stay, who we really enjoyed working with. We decided to send him a Christmas card that had some of our latest family pictures. Yesterday we got a letter back from him that reads:
Dear Kendra and Jeff,
Thanks so much for the note and the great pictures of you and Alayna. She looks like the best Christmas present anyone could ask for. Have a great Christmas and a continuing happy new year.

So true Dr. Coulter, so true. Thanks for the reminder that the best presents don't come in wrapping paper.

1 year later...we are much happier to be there this time around!

On another note, we also went in with the Yoho side and together we all donated 14 fleece blankets and a bunch of beanies (all hand made) to Primary Children's Hospital, where Alayna also stayed last December. We got to go deliver those items on Alayna's birthday which made it extra special!

That letter back from the doctor made me tear up. How sweet of him to care enough to write back. What a great guy.
