Becca's First Birthday

Sweet little Becca's birthday was Wednesday, September 26th.  Mom made chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast.  Becca was a fan.  When Becca woke up, she had a Rapunzel balloon in the living room from Daddy and Alayna!  When dad got home, our family went to Chili's for dinner where Becca enjoyed chicken strips, broccoli, and her first glass of chocolate milk!  It was a really fun day!

Becca actually got to have multiple parties!  The Saturday after her birthday, we celebrated with the Klemas side.  We had dinner at our house and combines Emily and Becca's birthday celebrations.  Becca got her own little cake.  Here she is examining it.

She quickly favored the purple frosting around the edges and ate that all the way around the cake before moving on to anything else!

Started clapping her hands.  Pretty fun watching frosting fly everywhere (at least we were outside!)

To speed things up and encourage her, I smashed her hand into the cake....she didn't like that much

Opening presents....she got several pairs of shoes, Noah's Ark Little People, a couple of new outfits, and a Sesame Street house

I wish we had a better picture standing over the cake to see the cute face and ears (my artist niece helped me with those!), but I was happy with how the cake turned out!

She is kind of all over the charts!  Oh yeah, and she has 6 teeth now!  Becca was in the cart at Hobby Lobby and exclaimed "hi" to an elderly lady as we walked in.  The lady came up and said "Well hi, you've got more teeth than I do!"

Talking: Says hi (all the time and to everyone, even strangers!), mom, dad, B (binkie), boo, and has been heard saying thank you, Layna, a-done, and buh-bye (but not consistently).

Mobility:  now more like running!  She is a stinker and is into everything!  She unrolls the toilet paper, empties my kitchen cupboards/drawers, gets into garbage cans, and likes to wrestle with/tackle her sister and the baby I watch (who is 6 months old!)

Sleeping: goes to bed at 8pm, usually wakes up in the night but typically goes right back to sleep when handed a binky.  Sometimes she's a stinker and screams to be held though.  She still naps 2x's a day thankfully!  The naps are usually at least 1.5 hours!

Favorite toys: baby dolls, toy drums, phones, purses....right around her birthday I was watching her hold and snuggle so sweetly with her baby doll.  I felt so warm inside and was thinking about how the Lord makes women motherly from the get-go, and was just so caught up in the moment.  Then I watched Becca walk over to the garbage can and throw the baby inside.  Moment gone.  

Favorite foods:  She used to eat pretty much anything except carbs but has since become a lot more "selective."  She usually is good about cereals, eggs, grapes, melon, crackers, turkey, black beans, broccoli, carrots, green beans, chicken, and cheese. She LOVES candy.  She turns into a little monster when you give her some, though.  She screams and demands for more and almost goes into a panic attack if you aren't giving it to her fast enough!

She loves playing peek-a-boo.  She will cover her face with anything and say "boo!"  It is SO cute.
She has a shoe obsession.  She loves to go get shoes, put them in her mouth (gross), or try and put them on.

She is a very sensitive baby.  When she does something wrong and is scolded (even calmly), she will start bawling.  It is so sad.  

 She is such a sweet baby.  We are so lucky to have her.  I can't believe she is already 1, but at the same time it is hard to imagine what our family was like without her!
