Thursday: Arrived in Long Beach and picked up our hot rental car (I'm not going to tell you what it is until I can post a picture!). Then we drove to my aunt and uncle's in Huntington Beach and hung out with them.
Friday: Knotts Berry Farm! We had a great time at the theme park and came home in late afternoon. We crashed for an hour, then went out to dinner at a nice Chinese Restaurant and then saw Valentine's Day at the cheap theatre down here. It was fun to be able to go to a movie on a whim!
Saturday we spent the whole day on Huntington Beach. We shopped downtown, ate some AMAZING mexican food for lunch, relaxed on the beach, wandered around on the pier, and watched the crazy people with sideshows, dancing, and calling everyone to repentance by standing on a cooler and yelling (don't get me wrong guys, I am very religious but I think there are more effective ways of preaching the gospel). Then that evening we ate dinner at a restaurant on the pier with all of my family that lives in SoCal, that I haven't seen in years. It was fun to be able to catch up with them while being on vacation.
Sunday we went church for a bit, then head down to San Diego for 3 days! We took Pacific Coast Highway to enjoy the scenery, stopped in San Clemente to eat at Pedro's Taco's (apparently world famous...and they were good!), checked in to our hotel, then took the ferry to Coronado Island. The ferry ride was nice but we didn't realize you could DRIVE there, so it was kind of a waste of money and we didn't realize there really isn't much to do ON the island.
Monday we spent 8 hours at the San Diego Zoo! We couldn't believe how huge it was and it was probably the most I've ever walked in a day! That evening we went to Old Town San Diego, which is like little Mexico with lots of mexican themed shops and restaurants. We ate some really good authentic mexican good and did some shopping. It was esp. fun for Jeff since lots of the aspects of the place reminded him of his LDS mission in Mexico!
Tuesday we were pretty tired so we chilled at our hotel pool until we had to check out. Then we went to the San Diego LDS temple. What a gorgeous building it is inside and out! Then we drove back to HB.
Wednesday started at 4:00am when we woke up to head to Hollywood for the Price is Right! Our filming wasn't even until 12:30 so it was a LONG day, but well worth it! Afterwards we went to see the walk of the stars, Hollywood sign, and chinese theatre.
Our last couple days should be pretty relaxed and unscheduled, just like a vacation should be!
We are enjoying not having a strict schedule, sleeping in, eating like kings, and being able to just relax. We miss our baby girl so much but know she's having a blast with Papa and Gram and family!
